New craft show coming to Cassopolis

The Cass Area Artists are having an art show for disseminating buyers on July 4 at the COA in Cassopolis.

The first annual Diamond in the Rough Fine Art & Craft Show, is scheduled for July 4, with 22 juried artists displaying their work from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cass County COA located at 60525 Decatur Road in Cassopolis.

“The event will provide an outing during the day while people are waiting for the fireworks to start,” said Tom Rose, director of the Cass Area Artists.

The Cass Area Artists was created last year to provide an outlet for artists in the Cass County area and the surrounding communities to interact with other artists and sell their work.

“Cass is the hub of the main communities — Niles, Dowagiac, Edwardsburg, Marcellus and Decatur — and we draw people from all of those regions and more,” Rose said. “Our goal was to give these artists an outlet to show their work.”

At the show July 4, guests can view countless pieces of artwork from a large variety of mediums, meet the artists who created them and purchase any products they want to take home.

All art items are handmade originals from a select group of juried artists. Items will include oil and water colors, fused glass drawings, kaleidoscope/mandals, jewelry, digital art, photography, collectible wood toys, fiber arts and dolls, stained glass, ceramics, rosaries, pottery and turned wood creations.

All artists participating in the show live in the Michiana area.
