Carmen Beverly Curtis, 57, passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2013 in Phoenix, Ariz.

She was born July 16, 1956 in South Bend to Richard L. Minisee and Elaine E. (Jones). Her parents survive. She was preceded in death by her sister Valerie Minisee. Carmen grew up in Michigan and also lived in Indiana. Her final move to Phoenix was in 2009.

Carmen was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She loved to eat, loved to laugh and be pretty.

Carmen will be greatly missed by family and friends. Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Shyanne Smith; her son, Shaun Steele; four grandchildren; her parents, Richard Minisee and Elaine Pulido; her sister, Maelyn Myers; her brothers, Larry Jones, Robin Minisee, Paris Minisee; her step mother, Delores Minisee; her step brothers, Chucky Wagner, Rene Pulido; her fiance’ Charles Grubbs; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather Sunday at 2 p.m. at her graveside in Bethel Cemetery, 19214 Mt. Zion Street, Cassopolis where her remains will be laid to rest beside her late grandmother, Mildred Minisee.
