Madison Pellow, a cornerstone of the Brandywine basketball program the last four years, has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her career at Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville.

“Madison has been a model of consistency,” Bobcat head coach Josh Hood said. “You can always count on Madison to show up for the games, especially the big games,” he continued. “That’s when she was at her best.”

Pellow averaged 10.6 points per game, and 7.5 rebounds this season, a season in which the Bobcats advanced to their third consecutive MHSAA class C quarterfinal. She finishes her high school career with a record of 88-12, three Lakeland Conference championships, four district titles, three regionals crowns, three quarterfinal appearances and one semifinal appearance, making herself and fellow senior Carlie Newman the most successful class in Brandywine basketball history.

“Madison is a top ten scorer in the history of the school, and with her hard work, as the head coach it’s always refreshing to see a player that’s been so committed to your program get rewarded with a scholarship,” Hood said.

Glen Oaks is currently rebuilding its women’s basketball program under head coach Joel Schroeder, who is excited about his incoming recruiting class and firmly believes that Madison is the foundation on which he can build his program, and looks for her to contribute right away.

“We identified her very early this season as somebody we could build our program around from talking to her coach, the program she’s played in, her talents and of course the support system of her family,” Schroeder said. “There is usually 20-25 people from her family at her games supporting her, and she is just the type of player you can build a program around.”

Last season the Vikings finished with a record of 6-21, but Schroeder figures to see a lot of improvement this year with the talent of his recruiting class, and the addition of Pellow.

“She is going to play immediately, I’m pretty sure she will start. She can shoot the ball, she can post up, and she is going to bring some toughness and leadership to our game, we are very excited to have her,” Schroeder said.
