Bringing peace to the world

Citizens Mediation Service needs help. Mediators help clients find their own unique options and solutions that both sides can agree to.

Having an impartial mediator in the room provides a level playing field by assuring that all voices are heard and no one is bullied into a one-sided solution, said organizers.

By providing this neutral space, clients learn to mitigate emotions, communicate rationally and repair relationships. To apply visit uwsm.org/volunteer.

Registered nurse needed

The Benton Harbor St. Joseph YMCA is in need of a registered nurse willing to volunteer his or her time at Just for You Night Out to help provide minor medical assistance. Just For You Night Out is a Saturday evening at the YMCA designed for individuals ages 16 and up with special needs.

Participants will come for an evening of swimming and physical activity, plus a chance to forge lasting friendships, said organizers. A healthy snack and dinner are included. Learn more at uwsm.org/volunteer.
