State Rep. Al Pscholka will host his third “tele-town hall meeting” 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

He will answer questions from residents of the 79th House District and provide an update on the work of the state government.

Constituents of Pscholka’s district will be contacted by phone prior to the beginning of the event and given an option to participate through the teleconference, which is expected to last about an hour.

Listeners who have questions will be connected to a moderator who will put them on the line to talk to Pscholka, R-Stevensville.

Residents can  participate during the one-hour block by calling (888) 886-6603 and entering the event ID number of 17656.

“These tele-town hall events have proven to be an effective way to share insight and answer common concerns,” Pscholka said. “I intend to continue hosting these events as long as they are helpful to residents.”

Those who wish to be added to the call list are encouraged to contact Pscholka’s office prior to the event with their names and phone numbers.

Recall attempt fails

A recall attempt against Pscholka has failed.

Recall language targeting Pscholka was approved in May but recall organizers were unable to gather the necessary 6,718 petition signatures in his district before the November deadline.

On his official Facebook page Pscholka made the following statement Monday:

“Recall fails. I have stayed focused on solving problems, serving constituents and making Michigan a better place to get and create a job. The recall was about raw, partisan politics that SW Michigan folks are tired of hearing about. We have made great progress getting spending under control, creating a budget surplus, reforming government and improving the business climate.”
