2012: A Year in Review picture contest winners

More than 100 entries were considered for Leader Publications 2012: A Year in Review photography contest, sponsored by Shelton’s Farm Market and Harbor Power Sports.

Izzy Cherrone’s photograph, “I Do,” taken in June, not only won the popular vote but got the thumb’s up from two judges from the staff of Leader Publications.

Lisa and David tie the knot on Silver Beach in St. Joseph.

“This is a picture of two of the dearest people in my life on their important day in a place that is so very special to them,” said Cherrone of her daughter’s wedding that took place on Silver Beach in St. Joseph.

“Look at the smile on his face and the sparkle in her eyes as, for just that moment, they are suspended in time. It is not your traditional wedding pose. It just happened to be one of those once-in-a-lfetime Kodak moments that was captured to be treasured for years to come,” said Cherrone, of Granger.

3rd Place: “Summer Strawberry”
by Jackie Appleman
Appleman, of Granger, Ind., took this photo of her best friend’s daughter, Harper, eating a strawberry from a local farm market. “For us, a perfect summer day is spending it outside: whether at the beach or picking fresh fruit and veggies to make treats with later.”
