It was Hillary Clinton versus Donald Trump, only for this debate the presidential candidates were embodied by Brandywine High School students, who debated as if they were the candidates on Monday.
The debate was one of the final steps in an election research project through Dave Roeder’s civics class. Roeder said he wanted students to embrace the facts this election and see through the name calling and bickering that so often surfaces in presidential elections.
Tenth grader Lucas Bucha spoke to a crowd of students as Hillary Clinton on Monday afternoon. Playing the role of Donald Trump was 10th grader Olivia Thomas.
Today, students will cast an electronic ballot in a mock election.
