The Edwardsburg Sports Complex will be the site of a national soccer program this summer.

The Beasley National Soccer School will be at the complex July 25-29.

The camp will offer fundamentals, intermediate, creative footwork and goalkeeping programs for boys and girls ages 5 to 17.

“The Beasley National Soccer School will be helping put the complex on the map of southwest Michigan’s soccer community, and offers the opportunity for young athletes throughout the area to get together and stay active this summer,” said Jennifer Mackling, Edwardsburg Sports Complex’s executive director. “The Beasley organization is highly involved with its other camp locations — some drawing 200 participants — and the complex staff and volunteers are incredibly excited to grow Beasley National Soccer School’s presence in Michiana.

DaMarcus Beasley created the curriculum for the school, based on his own experiences with youth developmental and international level soccer.

The camp has been successful in developing young athletes throughout the region for many years.

Beasley is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and spent 16 years playing for the U.S. National team and is now a member of the Houston Dynamo of the Major League Soccer (MLS).

The Beasley National Soccer School is unique in that it has a low participant-to-instructor ratio, with instruction from professional and licensed coaches and an opportunity to meet professional players.

Due to the MLS season, Beasley will be unable to attend the camp, but will be visiting with the athletes by phone and video calls.
