According to an email sent Wednesday morning by Melody Kuemin, chairman of the Miss Cassopolis Scholarship Pageant, the organization has disbanded.

“We would like to thank the community of Cassopolis for everyone’s support since 2014 until today of the Miss Cassopolis Scholarship Organization,” Kuemin said in her email. “It is with our sincerest, deepest regrets that this organization has disbanded and is no longer in service. There have been numerous joyful times as well as roadblocks and we would not have changed anything.

“The amazing wonderful memories we have are all thanks to everyone’s support over the years. We have enjoyed working alongside our Royalty throughout the years and want to send them all our heartfelt wishes on an amazing future. Thank you Cassopolis, for your support. We have been so honored to have been your Miss Cassopolis Scholarship Organization.”

Kuemin said that the 2016 royalty will complete their year on their own and the organization wants to wish them well as they finish.

The next event for Miss Cassopolis is the Blossomtime Fashion Show at Lake Michigan College April 24.

The Grand Floral Parade is scheduled for May 7.

Stacey Horstmann was crowned Miss Cassopolis 2015 on Dec. 12.

Her court consists of first runner-up Alexandria Anderson, second runner-up Kaylyn Forrest and Mr. Cassopolis Kwesi Huffman.
