COLOMA — After seven lead changes, Buchanan finally pulled out a 7-5 non-conference baseball victory over Coloma Tuesday.

The Bucks took the lead for good in the top of the ninth.

Buchanan took the lead on an RBI single by Bryce Vineyard, plating Kyle Leazenby.

Vineyard racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Bucks.

Coloma couldn’t get anything going as long as Darren Shearer was on the hill. Shearer held Coloma hitless over 3 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out one.

Leazenby got the win in relief for Buchanan. Leazenby pitched two innings and allowed one run.

Coloma jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second.

The Bucks would tie the score at 3-3 in the fifth inning and then score a run in the seventh inning and follow it up with one more in the eighth.

In the seventh, the Bucks scored on a passed ball, scoring Vineyard.

It didn’t take long for Coloma to answer as it scored one run of its own in the seventh on a passed ball and another in the eighth on a Buchanan error.

The second game was suspended after three innings due to darkness.
