Two arrested for residential meth lab

A pair of suspects are in custody following a police search that uncovered a five methamphetamine lab operation within city limits Wednesday, according to the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team.

According to police, detectives with local drug task force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of McOmber Street in city limits, on suspicions that methamphetamine was being used and manufactured in the home.

During the search, authorities discovered five meth labs at the residence: three inside the garage and two inside a vehicle parked on the property. Police also found methamphetamine inside the residence.

Both suspects, a 42-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, were placed under arrest following the sweep. A search of the woman found she was in possession of the substance. Police also discovered additional meth and meth paraphernalia inside a second vehicle parked on the premises.

The suspects were taken to Cass County Jail, where they were lodged for manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining a lab creating hazardous waste, possession of methamphetamine, and maintaining a lab within 500 feet of a residence/school/church.

Their names are currently being withheld pending arraignment in Cass County Court, which is scheduled to take place Friday.
