Shirley Jean Burgoyne, 73, of Niles, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016, at home surrounded by her family.

Shirley was born on March 26, 1942, to the late Joseph Franklin and Ruby Jewel Grooms in Tullahoma, Tennessee. She graduated from Buchanan High School in 1961. On June 12, 1976, she married Robert A. Burgoyne. Shirley retired from the City of Niles. She was an active member at Buchanan Christian Church. Shirley was an avid reader and enjoyed arts and crafts.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Robert A. Burgoyne; children, Ronnie (Debbie) Burgoyne, Donna (Jack) Heron, Teresa Latislaw, Timothy (Janie) Fein, Trent (Lori) Fein, Lisa (Jeff) Blanzy and Tracey (John) Simpson; twenty plus grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters, Jewel Dreher, Susie (Ray) Isek, and Joy “Cookie” (Bob) Irwin; James (Jeannie) Grooms, Jerry Grooms, and Jackie Grooms; “adopted” son, Joseph James Letcher; cousin/sister, Linda (Ron) Torgeson and furry son, Tillman.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Franklin and Ruby Jewel Grooms; brothers, Joe and Jeffrey Grooms and sister, Janice Grooms.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Buchanan Christian Church, Buchanan. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Robert A. Burgoyne to help the family with final expenses.
