Edwardsburg picks up homecoming victory

Edwardsburg made sure that visiting Dowagiac would not win its second straight game at its homecoming Friday night.

The Eddies outscored the Chieftains 39-13 over the first three quarters and went on to post a 50-19 victory in Wolverine Conference South Division girls basketball.

Savannah Dixon scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Eddies, who also got 13 points from Kaitlyn Zarycki and five points from Sam Ekanayake.

Edwardsburg is now (8-6 overall and 4-4 in the Wolverine South.

Mara Nelson led Dowagiac (1-13, 0-9 Wolverine South) with five points. Tania Wilson and Amiyah Smith each finished with four points.
