ELKHART — Araminta “A.J.” Douglas, 42, of Elkhart passed away at 8:30 am on Saturday Jan. 30, 2016, at her home. She was born on Aug. 29, 1973, in Dowagiac, MI to Marshall and LaVirda Douglas.

A.J. is survived by: her mother, LaVirda Douglas of Bradenton, Florida, a daughter, Destiny Davis of Maryland, two sisters; Marcia (Terry) Douglas-Howard, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Patricia (Andre) Scott, of Florida; two brothers: Anthony (Sharon) Douglas of Colorado, Michael Douglas, of Elkhart; special considerations: her cousins, James Parker of California, Denice Kirkpatrick of Illinois; three nephews: Michael (Dawn) Douglas, Brandon Douglas, Allen Prestley; nine nieces: Dannielle Shaw, Christina Scott, Stephanie (Ben) Kim, Allison (Phillip) Hurst, Adriene Scott, Cassandra Douglas, Catrinca Prestley, Cammie Prestley, Sarah Douglas, great nieces Makala Kirby, Madeline Douglas, along with a host of great nieces, great nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Marshall Douglas.

A.J. graduated from ITT — Tech earning her associates.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday Feb. 26, 2016, at Mission Hills Cemetery in Niles, Michigan.

Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with her arrangements.
