Mike passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday Jan. 16, 2016.

Mike was born March 9, 1960 in Niles, Michigan to the late Ed and Verlene Butts. He attended Oak Manor Elementary School, Ring Lardner Jr. High and graduated from Niles High School in 1979.

Mike had many friends and a heart of gold. The family asks that all that knew him pray that God may provide the guidance, strength and comfort to keep him warm and safe. He will surely be missed by all that knew him.

Mike is survived by Son Michael Butts of Chicago, Illinois, Daughter Lindsey Maginn, and Grandson Miles of Richmond, Illinois. Sister Sherri (Kevin) Murray of Spring Grove, Illinois, Brothers Kevin (Dianna) Butts of Keosauqua, Iowa, favorite Niece Kaila, Nephew Kevin, Greg (Ellen) Butts of Spring Grove, Illinois, Nieces Danielle, Nicole.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place with a private memorial at a later date.
