Vicksburg hits 11 3-pointers in win over Chieftains

VICKSBURG — Host Vicksburg connected on 11 3-pointers in a 55-47 upset of undefeated Dowagiac in Wolverine Conference boys basketball Friday night.

The Chieftains (7-1, 2-1 Wolverine South) had been living on the edge the past few games, pulling out several in the final quarter or overtime.

Dowagiac trailed 17-14 after one quarter and 29-20 at halftime.

The Bulldogs (4-3, 1-1 Wolverine South) led 41-33 heading into the fourth quarter.

Keoante Blackamore scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Chieftains, who also got 12 points from Brandon Winchester-Jones and 10 points from DeYonte Sullivan.

Brenden Lovell led the Bulldogs with 11 points, Blake Rankin and Adam Grabowski both finished with 10 points.
