Dowagiac wrestlers sweep Plainwell, Vicksburg

PLAINWELL — The Dowagiac wrestling team swept host Plainwell and Vicksburg in Wolverine Conference action Wednesday night.

The Chieftains have now won four consecutive league matches and are 4-1 against Wolverine Conference foe since opening with a loss to Edwardsburg back in December.

Dowagiac blanked Vicksburg 78-0 as it took advantage of nine forfeits from the Bulldogs.

Winning on the mat for the Chieftains were Kody Walker (technical fall), Jesse Edge (pin), Gage Williams (decision), Mason Hiler (pin) and Seth Fear (decision).

Dowagiac defeated the host Trojans 69-11 as it picked up six pins and five forfeits.

Winning by pin fall were Walker, Xander Keller, Gage Williams, Nathan Tackitt, Hiler and Derek Collett.
