Gavin Rasler is a senior in the Niles basketball team.

 

What has been one of your greatest

accomplishments as an athlete?

GR: Being a leader on the team.

What has been one of your biggest

disappointments as an athlete?

GR: Not winning a district championship.

What has been a hardship in your life?

GR: People doubting me.

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?

GR: My grandpa is, because he is successful.

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

GR: Right before the tipoff.

Describe an embarrassing athletic

moment.

GR: Air balling a 3-pointer.

How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?

GR: I lift a lot.

What other sport would you like to

compete in if you were not playing yours?

GR: I enjoy playing tennis with friends.

Who would you say is your “biggest fan?” Why?

GR: My dad, because I know no matter how I play, he’ll be proud.

How would you give away $50,000?

GR: Cancer research.

If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?

GR: Niles of course.

If I did not play sports, I would…?

GR: Play video games all day.

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

GR: Taking charges.

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

GR: Five-second call when guarding the ball.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

GR: People telling me good job.

What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?

GR: Watched “Insidious” by myself. I was not glad I did that.

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

GR: Watching Derek make a clutch shot in our last game.

What is your favorite hobby? Why?

GR: Basketball.
