Harry Reed is a senior on the Dowagiac basketball team.
What has been one of your greatest
accomplishments as an athlete?
HR: Breaking the record for most threes in a season.
What has been one of your biggest
disappointments as an athlete?
HR: Losing to Benton Harbor last year.
What has been a hardship in your life?
HR: Not playing a lot my sophomore year on varsity.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
HR: My dad, because he always helps me and others get through hard times.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
HR: I don’t really get nervous anymore.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
HR: My first shot on varsity, I hit the side of the backboard.
How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?
HR: I go to a nearby park and shoot hundreds of shots.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
HR: Football.
Who would you say is your “biggest fan?” Why?
HR: My parents, because they always support me and give me great advice.
How would you give away $50,000?
HR: I would donate it to homeless shelters.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
HR: Freshman basketball.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
HR: Work and save money up for college.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
HR: Staying focused the whole time.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
HR: The 10 seconds that you get to get across half court.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
HR: I’m the best shooter in the state.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
HR: Practicing with the varsity for districts as a freshman. Yes, I’m glad I did it.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
HR: My friend Matt made a half-court shot for the yearbook with one try.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
HR: Playing video games because it’s fun.
