Dowagiac’s Tucker first team All-MIAA linebacker

FREELAND — Eight Adrian College student-athletes, plus another who received one of the three major individual awards, were named to the 2015 All-Michigan Intercollege Athletic Association football team, it was announced by MIAA Commissioner Penny Allen-Cook.

Senior running back Dylan Dunn (Livonia, Mich./ Stevenson High School) was named with the Pete Schmidt Memorial Scholar-Athlete Award. Sophomore running back Emmanuel Stewart (St. Petersburg, Fla./Gibbs HS) earned a spot on the All-MIAA First Team Offense while seniors Mitch Osadchuk, a defensive back from Saline High, and Dontrell Tucker, a linebacker out of Dowagiac High, and sophomore lineman Damon Fuller (Redford/Thurston HS) made the first unit on the defensive side of the ball.

Sophomore offensive lineman Eric McDonel (Titusville, Fla./Astronaut HS) placed on the all-conference second team, as well as junior defensive lineman Zach Reiger (Hudson High School), junior defensive back Jarius Garner (Mulberry, Fla.) and freshman linebacker Chris Adams (St. Petersburg, Fla./Gibbs HS).

Tucker led the Bulldogs with a career-best 89 tackles, shattering his previous personal record of 25 in 2014. His MIAA ranks included first in solo tackles (56), third in tackles per game (9.9) and fifth in total stops. He had 2-1/2 sacks for 25 yards for 10th in the conference.
