Alice was born on Oct. 13, 1926, in Berrien Center, Michigan to Ralph and Bessie (Merrill) Webster. She married Gene Alexis in South Bend, Indiana on Sept. 20, 1943. Alice was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Dowagiac. Alice loved children so much that she had a licensed day care in her home for over 30 years. It is thought that she raised half the county. After “retirement” she couldn’t sit still for very long so she began volunteering at the Cass County Council on Aging. She enjoyed being an activities facilitator. Alice was a very patient and kind woman.

Alice is survived by her daughter Jamie (Dean) Brovont of Goshen; a son-in-law Jim Gersitz of Eau Claire; six grandchildren Sandra Steele, Clinten (Jessica) Lawrence, Lisa Pedrotti, Danielle (Justin) Kasper, Rikki (Brian) Spicher, Ryan Ridenour; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; along with several nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Gene; her daughter Tammie; five brothers Fred Webster, Leo Webster, Russell Webster, James Webster and Melvin Webster; and one sister Ester Cushway.
