Marcella Ruth Swilley, 89, of Three Rivers, died peacefully Thursday, Oct. 30, 2015, in Riverview Manor in Three Rivers.

She was born Nov. 29, 1925, in South Bend, Indiana to Camiel and Mary Van de Walle. She married John Edward Swilley, Jr. September 24, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana. They moved to Three Rivers, Michigan in 1968. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was also preceded by her parents; three sisters, Catherine Chrisman, Josephine Tschida and Sister Eleanore Van de Walle; and one brother, Charles Van de Walle.

Marcella worked for Essex Wire (later United Technologies) for thirteen years. She then worked at Walgreen’s for seventeen years, retiring in 2004.

Marcella will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her only child, a daughter, Mary S. Hart of North Port, Florida; one brother in law, Robert (wife, Marilyn) Swilley of Jones, Michigan; and two nieces.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at 9 a.m. for a Graveside service in Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers with Father Anthony Rajesh officiating. Mrs. Swilley will be laid to rest beside her late husband, John E. Swilley, Jr.
