Alan Ray Burke, 51, of Niles, Michigan died unexpectedly at 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Michigan.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana to Von Ray and Sandra Jean Wilson Burke. He attended Red Brick Elementary School and Lewis Cass ISD, and has lived in this area all of his life. He was employed for several years at a grocery store in Cassopolis, Michigan.

Alan was a baptized, professing Christian. He enjoyed fishing — usually in the Saint Joseph River – and playing the latest on-line computer games. He loved animals, especially his dog, “Little Man;” and is well remembered for his great sense of humor.

He is survived by his father, Von Ray Burke of Niles and his twin sister, Sandra May (Lee) Deuel of Dowagiac, Michigan; nephews Robert, William, Bryan, and Bradley, a niece, Alana; and a circle of great friends including Maureen (Frank) McDonald.

The funeral service for Alan Burke will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church in Niles officiating.
