Buchanan 9-0 for first time since 1988

For the first time since 1988, the Buchanan Bucks are undefeated in the regular season.

The Bucks (9-0) outscored archrival Brandywine (5-4) 28-0 in the second half to roll to a 63-20 victory in BCS Athletic Conference non-divisional football Friday night.
Buchanan ran for 259 yards and threw for 359 yards in totally dominating the contest after Brandywine had taken 14-7 lead on the Bucks in the opening quarter.
From that point on it was all Buchanan as the Bucks scored 28 points in the second quarter to take a 35-21 lead at halftime.
The key moment of the game came after the Bobcats had cut the Buchanan lead to 21-20 with 3:01 to play in the opening half.
Buchanan marched down the field and scored on a Jacob Graham 1-yard run with 45 seconds remaining.
On the ensuing possession, Brandywine fumbled the football at its own 28-yard line. The Bucks needed just one play to make it 35-21 as Jarrett Thomas connected with Dalton Riddle for a touchdown with 23 seconds remaining in the half.
Buchanan’s dual quarterback system of Jarrett and starter Darren Shearer combined for 359 yards on 14-of-23 with six touchdowns.
Graham led the ground game with 111 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bobcats finished with 197 yards rushing, led by Jeshua Wiese’s 65 yards, which allowed him to top the 1,000 yard for the season.
Brandywine was threw for just 77 yards. Corbin Eckenberger was 6-of-12 with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Austin Knapp, who set a new school record with his 17th career TD pass.
