COLOMA — Gage Williams scored off an assist by Gavin Green in the second overtime to lift Dowagiac to a 1-0 win over Coloma in Division 3 District soccer action Monday night.
“It’s was a hard fought game on both sides,” Dowagiac coach Mike Williams said. “We were as even of a team as I have seen. Gage was able to get a hold of a pass from Gavin from 25 yards out and ripped a shot in the upper part of the goal. I am proud of our effort and perseverance for the 100 minutes. We played solid defense in the back led by our sweeper Green.”
The Chieftains, who were outshot by the Comets 11-6, will host Paw Paw at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the semifinals.
The Redskins defeated the Chieftains 9-2 in their Wolverine Conference match last week.
