Richard A. Walkden, 68, of Niles, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, Ind.

Rick was born on Dec. 21, 1946, to Richard H. and Bernice Walkden, who survive.

He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and was a retired diesel mechanic.

In addition to his parents, Rick is survived by one brother, Jack (Nedra) of Niles; three sisters, Bob Ann of Buchanan, Becky (Dan) Cauffman of Brookfield, Wisconsin, and Jeanne of South Bend; a son, Rich H. II (Joyce) of Galien; two grandchildren, Jacob (Taylor) of Galien and Daylon of Michigan City, Indiana; and two great-grandchildren, Lilly of Galien and Sebastian of Galien.

Rick was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Isaiah.

A service celebrating Rick’s life will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan where friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
