ST. JOSEPH — The Niles volleyball remained unbeaten in the SMAC West division as it defeated St. Joe 23-25, 25-13, 25-23, 25-17 Wednesday night.

“This is a very exciting time for our team as we battle to win the conference,” Niles coach Jenny Nate said. “The girls are on a strong run and we need to really push right now to clean up our play. We made some big plays tonight, but we had more errors than I would like. We need to step up our intensity, move faster, and get more disciplined as we prepare.

“They know our practices leading up to our match against Lakeshore next week are going to be tough and they are excited and ready to get back to work and refocus their energy on winning the conference title.”

The Vikings will travel to Stevensville Wednesday to face the Lancers for their final division match.

Niles is now 36-6 overall and 4-0 in the SMAC West.
