James Shelton Price, 81, of Niles, Michigan died on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at Bronson Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw, Michigan following an extended illness. He was born March 15, 1934, in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Steven and Emma “Dicie” (Adcock) Price.

James was a United States Marine Corps Veteran, having served during the Korean War time. He was retired from Tyler Refrigeration in Niles after 30 years of employment and also owned his own welding shop where he was always working on a tractor or farm equipment.

On July 21, 1956 in Niles, James married the former Joan Rector, with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Joan preceded James in death just six weeks prior, on August 26, 2015. Surviving family includes their children, Debra (Paul) Stueber of Niles, Diane Beaudoin of Cassopolis and Dennis (Lori) Price of Niles; four grandchildren, Timothy Stueber, Angela Stueber, Matthew Beaudoin and Sophia Price and 5 great-grandchildren, Faith, Tahlon, Tate, Quinn and Grace. Also surviving are James’ brother, Nelson Price of Berrien Center, Michigan and sisters, Ruth (Jim) Green of Niles and Mary Ann Timbs of Union City, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Price and brother Kenneth Price.

The funeral service for James Shelton Price will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at the mausoleum chapel at Mission Hills in Niles. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
