Harold E. Garrett, 80, of Dowagiac, passed away at The Timbers of Cass County on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 66325 M-152, (Sister Lakes) Dowagiac, Michigan, with Pastor David Schaller officiating. Burial will follow at Keeler Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St, Dowagiac, Michigan. Harold was born Dec. 16, 1934, in Bangor, Michigan to Otto and Angela (Stubelt) Garrett. He married the former Helen McManus in Elkhart, Indiana on July 4, 1963. They recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. He served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. Harold was retired and formerly employed at Contech as an electrician for over 25 years. Harold was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sister Lakes for 52 years. He was a devout Christian and loved the Lord with all of his heart.

Harold is survived by his wife Helen, six children; Mark (Charlene) Garrett of Bangor, Michigan, Cherie Garrett of Sister Lakes, Michigan, Kristina (Dan) Chowning of Oregon, Melissa (Elliott) Stowe of Stevensville, Michigan and Valerie (Garrick) Rochow of Stockbridge, MI, nine grand children and one great grandchild, two brothers; Terry (Sue) Garrett and Marvin (Helen) Garrett, two sisters; Karen (Ron) Strike and Glenna (Walter) Holbury.

Harold was preceded in death by a daughter Tammy Renee Garrett and one grandchild.
