Edwardsburg blanks South Haven 57-0

SOUTH HAVEN — Visiting Edwardsburg blanked South Haven 57-0 in Wolverine Conference football to improve to 6-0 Friday night.

The win qualified the Eddies, a state semifinalist last season, for a playoff spot and kept Edwardsburg atop the conference standings.

The one-two rushing punch of Isaiah Miller and Damion Pompey accounted for four touchdowns.

Miller scored on runs of 5, 2 and 4 yards, while Pompey ran for a team-high 104 yards and scored on a 61-yard run.

Austin Cline, Joey Hess and Edwards Mozader also scored rushing touchdowns as the Eddies rolled up 344 yards on the ground.

Edwardsburg’s Dante Razzano was 1-for-1 passing for 30 yards and a touchdown as he connected with Ben Robertson.

Cline led the team in tackles with eight and an interception.

Chase Tarwacki had six tackles and a pair of interceptions, while Bo Thomas recovered a pair of fumbles and Razzano picked off a pass.

The Eddies host Plainwell, a 17-8 winner over Dowagiac, Friday night.
