Antonio Brito is a junior on the Dowagiac soccer team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
AB: Knowing that my team looks at me as a leader.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
AB: None.
What has been a hardship in your life?
AB: Work.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
AB: My mom, because she sacrifices so much from outdoor soccer to indoor soccer from driving, supporting and pushing me.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
AB: As a freshman, I would sag one-on-one with defense, but now I don’t get nervous anymore.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
AB: When I missed a shot from the six-yard line.
How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?
AB: I lift weights and do cardio workouts.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
AB: None.
Who would you say is your “biggest fan?” Why?
AB: My parents, because they come whenever they can make it to a game. They are always there and they push me to do my best.
How would you give away $50,000?
AB: Give it to my parents.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
AB: FC Barcelona.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
AB: Focus on school a lot more.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
AB: Turning the soccer ball into the center rather than outside.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
AB: No offsides.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
AB: That’s how you play a full 80 minutes.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
AB: Matching up to seniors when I was a freshman. Yes, I’m glad I did it because it made me better.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
AB: When a forward curved the ball with his weaker foot and scored.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
AB: Listening to music. It calms me down and gets me more focused.
