A storm caused an isolated power outage in Niles Friday when a tree fell into a power line on South Third Street just north of Decker Street.

City utility crews responded to the outage around 6:45 a.m. and found the power lines still energized.

Workers had to cut the power to the lines in order to remove the tree and associated debris, which covered the road.

About 60 people were without power for around an hour and a half.

South Third Street was closed for most of the day between Silverbrook and Fort streets as workers repaired the lines and removed debris.
