“I was proud of myself, very happy and amazed that I actually won,” said Young, who is in the seventh grade at Ring Lardner Middle School in Niles.

Young said she has been showing goats since she was 6 years old. She followed in the footsteps of her older brothers Zack, 13, and Travis, 16.

They all show at the Berrien County Youth Fair.

“I had a choice to show and I chose to do it,” she said of showing goats. “I think it is fun and it gives me time away from TV.”

Taylor has also had success at the Berrien County Youth Fair. There, she showed the grand champion market goat in 2011 and was also named the top young junior showman when she was 6 years old.
