LMC announces new classes in Niles, New Buffalo

The Lake Michigan College Bertrand Crossing campus has released its fall 2015 community education schedule.

It offers Niles area residents plenty of opportunities to explore topics like photography, history, cooking, and personal health and safety at low or no cost.

Courses offered at the Bertrand Crossing Campus and in New Buffalo in October and November include:

• Cooking with Herbs — Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. ($30)

• Photography: Setting Up Your Shot — Saturday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. (Free)

• How to Audition Workshop – Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. (Free)

• Quagmire: The United States in Vietnam, 1945-1975 — Saturday, Oct. 17 at 9 a.m. (Free)

• American Sign Language — Tuesdays, Oct. 20, 27, Nov. 3, 10 at 6:30 p.m. ($79)

• Smart KidzSafe Kidz — Saturday, Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. ($25)

• What is your Personality Type? — Saturday, Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. (Free)

• “Loose Lips Sink Ships”: Civil Liberties in Wartime — Saturday, Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. (Free)

• Video: Setting Up an Interview — Saturday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. (Free)

• Personal Safety and Current Scams — Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. (Free)

• Old-Fashioned Soap Making — Saturday, Nov. 21 at 9 a.m. ($20)

• (At the New Buffalo High School) Hablando de Cine/Film for Spanish Conversation — Wednesdays, September 16, 23, 30 and Oct. 7, 14 at 7 p.m. ($50)

• (At the New Buffalo Library Quagmire) The United States in Vietnam, 1945-1975 — Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. (Free)

LMC is also offering courses in Benton Harbor, New Buffalo, South Haven, and St. Joseph.
