The Dowagiac JV football team got its first win of the season Wednesday night by defeating visiting South Haven Rams 21-14.

Offensively the Chieftains moved the ball well and had several contributing members. Jamin Hunt had two touchdowns, Caleb Murphy had one and both Drew Vaickus and Logan Thies had crucial catches to keep drives alive.

Murphy and Justin Lyle anchored the defense.

The Chieftains travel to Three Rivers on Thursday to face the Wildcats.
