Bonnie S. Blaske, 69, of Dowagiac, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 2, 2015 at her home in Dowagiac under Hospice care.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church, 326 N. Lowe Street, Dowagiac, with Pastor Kel Penny officiating. Friends may visit with the family before the service from 10 a.m. until noon at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Dowagiac or Hospice, Heartland Enriching Life, Kalamazoo. Bonnie was born Dec. 28, 1945 in Muskegon, MI to Jack and Janice (Hunsberger) Myers. She graduated from Dowagiac Union High School. She married Richard (Dick) Blaske in Dowagiac on June 17, 1983. Bonnie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dowagiac. She retired from the Dowagiac School System after 25 years as an administrative assistant. She loved family gatherings and being around friends. Those who knew her will remember most her beautiful smile. Bonnie loved to sew and cook and was especially fond of playing cards (“Hand & Foot”) with good friends. She had a love of animals, flowers and books.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Dick, four children; Denise Dodson and Kirk Blaske of Florida, Keith (Joyce) Blaske of Niles and Scott (Laure) Staszak of Chicago, IL and ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. She also leaves behind siblings; brother Donald (Barb) Myers of Dowagiac, sister Connie (Mark) Parkhurst of Dowagiac and sister-in-law, Sandy Myers of Ohio. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald Myers of Ohio.
