Niles, Mattawan split SMAC tennis match

Visiting Mattawan and Niles split a SMAC West Division tennis match Wednesday afternoon.

The match was delayed 45 minutes due to a heat index of 132-degrees on the court.

The Wildcats swept the singles flights, while Niles swept the doubles flights as the team ended in a 4-4 draw.

The best match of the day was Mattawan’s Connor Miller picking up a hard-fought 6-4, 2-6 and 7-6 win over Niles’ Blaine Clark at No. 4 singles.
