Niles fire chief displays honesty, integrity

I have been living in Niles for more than 28 years, and I have been involved with multiple businesses.

I started with small houses, as a landlord and did go from the car business to hotel during this time. I have been dealing, as far as inspections and safety of these businesses, with our good man Larry Lamb, who in addition to being chief of the Niles Fire Department does code inspections. I have had lots of disagreements with him during all those years.

I realize now, what he does, is really for the safety and best interest of everyone in this town.

During the years of dealing with his office as a landlord and business owner, I never had a question about his honesty and integrity and his love for Niles. I know he only has a few years left as a fireman and chief before he can retire.

I also believe this man has the qualities to make a good mayor in Niles if he wanted to.

I don’t know anything about politics and other parts of this kind of job, but besides the politics I can’t think of anyone to be more qualified for this job.

Larry Lamb served this city for as long as I have been here and he is/was the first person for everyone to contact if we had an incident during those years.

I have no agenda in writing this letter, but I believe it’s our duty to acknowledge his years of service, his honesty and integrity.
