BUCHANAN —Darren Shearer had a hand in all three touchdowns as host Buchanan defeated Wyoming Godwin Heights 20-8 in non-conference football action Thursday.

Shearer tossed touchdown passes to Tim McCaffrey (47 yards) and Josiah Smith (18 yards) in the opening quarter and then capped the scoring with a 46-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Shearer was 4-of-8 for 87 yards as the Bucks (1-0) finished with 269 yards of total offense.

Godwin Heights’ lone touchdown came in the third quarter on a 40-yard pass from Richard Major to Leon Redd.

Godwin Heights had 312 yards in total offense, including 248 yards on the ground.
