After opening its season against some of the best teams in the state at the East Kentwood Invitational Saturday, the Brandywine tennis team opened the home portion of its schedule Monday afternoon.

The host Bobcats blanked Galesburg-Augusta 8-0 in a non-conference match at Plym Park.

“I was happy to see our toughness emerge today after the tough weekend of play,” Brandywine coach David Sidenbender said. “I saw us relax and just play today and there was some visible improvement. We have a long way to go but I like our start of the season. And I like this team.”

The Bobcats won all eight flights in straight sets.
