BERRIEN SPRINGS — Niles brothers Trent and Drew George took home nearly every major award in Monday’s sheep show at the Berrien County Youth Fair, then followed up with another impressive performance in Tuesday’s swine show.

Trent, who will be entering the seventh grade at Ring Lardner Middle School this fall, showed the grand champion market lamb, while his younger brother came in second place with the reserve grand champion market lamb.

Drew, who will be a fourth grader at Ballard Elementary School this year, was also named the fair’s top sheep showman, earning him a spot in Saturday’s overall large animal sweepstakes competition.

The brothers also finished one-two in the breeding sheep category with Drew displaying the grand champion breeding ewe and Trent the reserve grand champion breeding ewe.

The Georges continued to haul in the awards on Tuesday when Trent’s market gilt was named grand champion market hog.

Trent said it was his first time showing a grand champion market hog and that Drew won the award a few years ago.
