EAST LAKE, Ohio — Pitchers Jeremy Null and David Garner Sunday were promoted from the South Bend Cubs to the Advanced-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans while pitchers Sam Wilson and Corbin Hoffner have been transferred from Short Season Eugene to South Bend.

The 21 year-old Null had been on the South Bend Cubs roster since opening day.

Null made 12 starts for South Bend and posted a record of 6-2 with 2.33 earned run average. The Western Carolina product pitched 65 and two-thirds innings, allowed 68 hits, 17 earned runs, walked only four and struck out 48.

The Claremont, North Carolina native leaves the Midwest League second in earned run average. He also was the starting pitcher for the Eastern Division in the 2015 Midwest League All-Star Game.

The 6-7, 200 pound right-handed pitcher was a 15 round pick of the Chicago Cubs in the 2014 draft.

Garner joined South Bend on April 19 from the Chicago Cubs extended spring training.

The Niles native appeared in 16 games out of the Cubs bullpen and collected a record of 2-0 with a 5.33 earned run average. Garner also picked up one save.

The 22-year-old right-handed pitcher in 25 and one-third innings, gave up 27 hits and 15 earned runs while walking 10 and striking out 31.

Garner was a seventh round pick of the Chicago Cubs in the 2013 draft.
