One in six Cass County residents experience food insecurity. In 2014, the EFP served 145 families per month with many households having one more children. Feeding these families is made possible by the continued support of the community.

Pantry shelves are stocked by volunteers from many different sources, including economic donations with food purchases at reduced cost from various regional businesses and Feed America; food drives hosted by schools, post offices, clubs, churches and more; and fresh produce grown by individuals and churches.

For the past three years, the food pantry has also supplemented this need through the Feed America Mobile Food Pantry in the Hope United Methodist parking lot. This year’s drive is funded by the Southwest Michigan united Way.

Food is distributed from the truck with an all-volunteer group with distribution once a month in July, August, September and October. Clients who qualify are sent cards with dates for food pickup.

Food donations may be dropped off at the food pantry directly to the pantry during regular hours of 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday Wednesday and Friday, at the lower level of Our Lady of the Lake Church. Those wishing to make donations may also drop off boxes inside the Social Hall entrance on the east side at any time.

Additional locations are at the exit of the Granger Martin’s, and the north side entrance of the Edwardsburg post office.

Monetary donations may be sent to the central office location at Our Lady of the Lake, 24832 U.S. Hwy. 12, Edwardsburg, MI 491112.

Edwardsburg Food Pantry provides food for those who qualify, per U.S. Government economic requirements within the Edwardsburg School District boundary.

EFP is a tax exempt organization and all donations are tax deductible.
