Bucks, Bobcats land four on BCS baseball squad

BCS Athletic Conference West Division co-champion Buchanan and Brandywine each placed four players on the all-division squad, which was announced recently.

First team selections for the Bucks were Jarrett Thomas, Dalton Riddle, Chad Adkerson and Gavin Morris.

Toby Fox, Matt Vaughn, Cole Searles and Seth Brown were first team picks for the Bobcats.

Buchanan’s Lonnie Hoover was named Coach of the Year.

Searles hit .341 with 10 doubles, a triple, two home runs and 24 RBIs to go along with 10 stolen bases.

Brown hit .418 with seven doubles, two triples, 18 RBIs and 27 stolen bases, while Fox hit .370 with four doubles and 30 RBIs.

Vaughn was 7-3 with an ERA of 1.07 and 58 strikeouts in 59 innings.

Adkerson hit .449 for the Bucks with five doubles, three triples, 20 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. Morris hit .338 with eight doubles, a triple and 21 RBIs. Hall hit .345 with five doubles, 11 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.

Riddle hit .380 with five doubles, six triples and 31 RBIs.

Thomas was 9-1 with an ERA of 1.01 with 63 strikeouts in 62.3 innings of work.
