A record of 50 teams teed off in the 12th annual Chieftain Golf Outing at Indian Lake Hills last Thursday.

While final numbers are not in yet for the amount raised, it should be another great year for the Dowagiac Athletic Booster Club and the Dowagiac Schools Foundation.

During the outing, Jim Sullivan, a member of the Dowagiac Elks Club team and one of the volunteers with the Jr. Golf Program, recorded a hole-in-one on No. 2 East.

The shot was witnessed by Dick Morey, Craig McCoy and Rob Canfield.

The winning team for the East Course were Burling & Gillesby, DDS. The team consisted of Jon Gillesby, Rose Gillesby, Jim Eckman and Karen Eckman.

Burling & Gillesby are Gold Sponsors of the event.

The winning team on the West Course was made up of Randy Melvin, Chris Foote, Ed Lowe and Bob Turner.

The North Course winning team consisted of Dan Tobin, Bob Kearns, Skip Herold and Max Howe.
