Seniors Tristan Howard and Ciera Smith were awarded the All-Sports Award and scholarships at the Spring Sports Night at Dowagiac Union High School Thursday.

The third and final sports night of the 2014-15 school year is presented by the Dowagiac Athletic Booster Club.

Howard is a three-sport standout, excelling in football, wrestling and track.

He was named honorable mention academic all-state in football, finished fifth at the state wrestling finals and finished eighth in the shot put at Saturday’s Division 2 state track meet.

Howard was also the recipient of Athletic Booster Golf Scholarship.

Smith played basketball and competed in the throwing events for Dowagiac during her career. An injury sustained as a junior kept her from playing basketball last winter for the Chieftains.

Also winning booster golf scholarships were Mary Magin, Rachel Lindenmulder, Riley Daly, Daquan Brooks and Aubrey Huston.

The Athletic Booster Club Scholarships were awarded to Alyssa Casey, Caleb Zimmerman, Connor Howard and Ana Manzano.

The Dick Dorgan Scholarship went to Zimmerman, while the Larry Cox Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Jon Lindenmulder.

Brooks and Huston were the recipients of the Bryan Frazier Memorial Scholarship.

Gage Williams was awarded the Outstanding Freshman Award, while Caleb Detwiler received the Sportsmanship Award.
