End of School Year Book Swap June 3

Published 9:17 am Friday, May 29, 2015

The Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church is hosting the End of School Year Book Swap from 4:30 to 6 p.m. June 3.

Residents are asked to bring their gently used books to the Presbyterian Church fellowship hall (downstairs). Check-in is between 4:30 and 5:15 p.m. with a maximum of 10 books. Donors will receive a bookmark for every book then swap. Donors are asked to put their name on each bookmark and between 5:20 and 5:45 p.m. they can browse the book selections, which will be organized by topic.

Donors can place a bookmark with their name in the front cover of the book they would like to have.

At 5:45 p.m., books will be distributed. In the event of multiple people wanting the same book, a lottery drawing of bookmarks will be held.

Books that are not chosen can be taken back by the original donors or they will be donated to the Heroes and Villains Relay for Life team for their book sale at the relay June 20.

A booklist from each donor would be appreciated when they drop the books off. This will make it easier to return books to the original donor.

Here are the rules for donating books:

• Books are to be gently-used and preferably within 10 years old.

• Books must have cover (not ripped off) and no ripped pages.

• Books may be paperback or hardcover.

• Non-fiction/History/Military/Science/Religion

• Horror/Suspense/Espionage
