The Niles High School Science Olympiad team shot for the stars and fell among them. This year, the high school team will be joining others from across Michigan for the 33rd state Science Olympiad tournament hosted by Michigan State University on May 2.

Fifteen students from NHS will join their head coach, Eira McDaniel, at the competition that is known to be a track meet for your brain.

Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of kindergarten through 12th grade science education, increasing male, female and minority interest in science, creating a technologically-literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers.

These goals are achieved by participating in Science Olympiad tournaments and non-competitive events, incorporating Science Olympiad into classroom curriculum.
