July 15, 1995 — April 9, 2015

Nicolas Tyler Papai, 19, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on April 9, 2015.

He was born July 15, 1995 to Richard and Celeste (Ewalt) Papai. They survive in Edwardsburg. Also left to cherish his memory are: his brother, Ryan Alexander Papai of Edwardsburg; grandmother, Joan Lerzak of Lafayette, Indiana; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Nicolas was an “old soul” who enjoyed picking and collecting old things, and was a fan of the Beach Boys. He had very outgoing personality, despite his challenges, and loved socializing with classmates, babysitting, online gaming and art projects. He was an exceptional student and frequently received student of the week and month awards. He was looking forward to graduation in the spring from North Brooke High School in Dowagiac. He was deeply loved by his family and they know he is their angel that was here on this earth to teach what love, compassion, humility, and strength really is! He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd. Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 24832, US 12, Edwardsburg, MI.

Memorial donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation to help find a cure for this disease that affects so many children and families.
