A pair of southwest Michigan players have been named to the honorable mention portion of the Associated Press Class B All-State team, which was announced recently.

Dowagiac junior Brandon Winchester-Jones and Edwardsburg junior Dante Razzano were both honorable mention selections on the squad picked by a 10-member media panel.

Winchester-Jones, who helped lead Dowagiac to the Wolverine Conference West Division championship, averaged 16.8 pointer per game with five assists, five steals and four rebounds per contest.

“He came into this year with high expectations a one or our key returners and that he would be the leader of this team,” Dowagiac coach Danum Hunt said. “He had his ups and downs this season, but as it progressed he stepped up and played the type of basketball that we expected him to.”

Razanno, who helped Edwardsburg win its second straight Class B District championship, led the Eddies in scoring at 15.5 points per game. He also grabbed six rebounds, dished out 4.5 assists and averaged 2.1 steals per game.

“A great accomplishment for a great kid,” Edwardsburg coach Steve Wright said. “He will work hard this summer to continue to improve his game. I am sure he will be ready for a strong senior season.”
